MUSIC MAKING AND ITS RELATION TO THE SPIRIT.

As an academic, I have always had a fascination for helping others learn the elusive art of conducting and working with ensembles.

As Director of Traditional Worship at Cypress Creek Christian Church in Spring, Texas, I conduct choral-orchestral concerts and Sunday morning worship.

As a former music professor, I spend my time working with others to create good conductors.

As an author, I write about it all.

ABOUT ME

After 17 years in academia, I found a different calling.

Thanks to some wonderful people in my life, I knew it was time for something different.

I had been the music director at First United Methodist Church of Brenham, TX, was playing the organ, and even was invited to preach when the pastors were away.  It was the stirring of a new beginning where I realized, thanks to an awakened spirit, that I could be musical, helpful, and spiritual - all at the same time.  In short, it was the beginning of a career change.
